As a parent, you have the right to request information about the professional qualifications of your child’s teacher and any teacher’s aides or assistants working with your child. Special EducationThe Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) is a federal law that assures children and youth with disabilities a free appropriate public education (FAPE) in the least restrictive environment (LRE). The Bristol Local School District provides a continuum of special education programs and services for preschool and school-age students with disabilities.
Parent Notification of Scholarship Programs for Students with Disabilities
Your child may be eligible for a scholarship under the Autism Scholarship Program or the Jon Peterson Special Needs Scholarship Program to attend a special education program that implements the child's individualized education program and that is operated by an alternative public provider or by a registered private provider. Information on scholarship programs are available from the Ohio Department of Education (ODE) web site at
